Guidelines to Authors
(The abstract of the papers will be printed in the Souvenir;
hence, the proper formatting of the abstract will help us in the
printing of the Souvenir)
- The abstract must not be more than 200 words.
- Use a clear, single spaced, black typeface from a laser printer.
- Submission must be in English
- The title should be in capital letters followed by blank
space.
- State the name of authors and underline the name of the author
presenting the paper.
- State the department/hospital/institution at which the work
was carried out.
- Start the main purpose of the study, preferably in one sentence.
- A statement of the methods used should follow.
- A summary of the result should be presented in an easily
comprehensible manner to support the conclusion. It is not adequate
to state, “ the result will be discussed”.
- Conclusion should be precisely stated.
- Do not include graphs, tables and references.
- Poorly presented abstracts reduce their chance of acceptance
, and accepted abstracts that are not suitable for reproduction
in abstract book will only have their title printed.
- The abstract can be sent via Email.
FREE PAPER PRESENTATIONS
Instruction to Authors
- Delegates are invited to present scientific work, either
as oral, poster or video presentation. Review papers will not
be accepted.
- Presentations are invited from all surgical disciplines.
- Only registered delegates may present free papers. Abstract
will not be accepted without payment of registration fees.
- Authors should indicate their preference for oral, poster
or video presentation.
- The abstract should contain material that has not been previously
published.
- Authors should send two copies of the abstracts.
- Authors are advised to retain a copy for personal record
- Please send the abstract to the secretariat before 15th October
2004.
- Authors will be notified of acceptance/rejection of their
presentation by 31st October 2004.
ORAL PRESENTATION
- Sessions will run concurrently and will be held as stated
in the scientific program schedule.
- Oral presentations are for 8 minutes each followed by 2 minutes
for discussion.
- Multi media LCD projection, Double slide projections are
available for oral presentation.
- All slides should conform to the 50mm X 50mm frame size.
POSTER PRESENTATION
- Poster sessions will be held as stated in the Scientific
Program.
- One of the authors should be present for first half hour
indicated in the final program.
- The presentation will be numbered and listed in the program.
- Posters must be mounted on the assigned board one hour of
the sessions indicated and must be dismounted within one hour
after the end of the session.
- The poster board area is 1.2 m X 1.0m
- It is the responsibility of the author to set up and dismantle
the poster material after presentation.
- The organizing Committee will not be responsible for any
poster that has not been dismounted during the stipulated hour.
VIDEO PRESENTATION
- Sessions will be held as stated in the Scientific Program.
- Video presentation should be for less than 15 minutes.
- VHS video recorder will be available on PAL system only.
